Just like most other happy homos I love Dolly Parton. She is the Patron Saint of all Humanity, of homos, of Blacks, really all Queer people, Cowboys, and Rednecks. The Saint of being a good Steward of the Earth, the Saint of Love, Happiness and the Smokey Mountains. The Saint of glitter, butterflies, rhinestones, and high heels. The Living Angel of Song and Song Writing, the Saint of Books and Knowledge, the Saint of Children rich and poor, the Patron Saint of Covid Funds, Rainbows and Rollercoasters. The brightest living light on Earth with a great set of tits, cinched mother tuckin waist, and Wigs a drag queen would die for. But they probably wouldn’t have to die for them, because she’d likely give them the ‘spensive wigs right off her head to save their lives (but in private). That’s not encouragement to go ask Dolly Parton for a wig. She’s also Patron Saint of Opportunities, Jobs, Freedom, Equality and shares the real love of Christ and not the hate so many of us have been shown from different churches. My point is she’s an Earth Angel who has a direct connection to something more and she uses that connection to better the world; to fill it with love and that’s pretty evident in her actions and songs.
Who in the hell would target Dolly Parton or her songs about freedom, rainbows, and togetherness? Because it has to be some kind of evil that would attack a Patron Saint like Dolly, something or someone from hell. How do you target a person who has given so much light and positivity back to the world? Really, like no other person I can think of off the top of my head. And she gives graciously to everybody- equally.
I listen to Dolly, I think pretty often. I came up with the title of this post from one of her songs “In the Meantime”. I think what we were shown earlier this week is just blatant meanness, evil hate, and divisive rhetoric that is used to attack the most vulnerable of populations, you and me, our trans brothers and sisters, Jews, Blacks, Mexicans, Asians, and Muslims. What I hope we remember is that each of these groups are not as strong individually as we are together. We need to stand together. Collaboratively we can win any Presidential election just by the numbers of votes we have. That is if they don’t try to scare you away from the voting booth or try to take your right to vote away. And believe me and believe history, they’ll try.
I want to live in a Dolly World, not necessarily in TN because it seems like there’s a lot of hate there these days. But in the meantime, we can fight for it to change. The only logical explanation I come up with, is when they see or hear about the beautiful colors mother nature creates they think about you and me, about us. That’s cool but the hate is not. What kind of Wisconsin principal would find a Parton/Patron Saint’s song not appropriate for kids? That’s not a principal/principle I’d want around my kids. There’s enough hate in the world already, I wouldn’t want my children to be exposed to it by a principal like this. Like eww. You’ll take her free books so long as they don’t talk about equality and freedom? What America are you living in? What America are you trying to make us go back to? Are the freedoms we were taught we have as young children, in elementary schools like in Wisconsin, a fucking lie? Are those freedoms only for a select few? Nah, don’t believe that shit! They are for us too, but they will try to take them there freedoms away from you and me, if we don’t speak up and vote.
How does anyone deem that song inappropriate for kids to sing? Like really, WTF? Hope and positivity in dark times are a bad things? What the fuck are you talking about? And why would you send that message to children? That’s pretty fucked up, it’s mean, and it’s wrong. Yes, we should all take this personal- they are taking deliberate swipes at us. That directly and indirectly affects your mental health and sense of safety and security. Those things are needed in order for you to self-actualize mother tuckers, and for the queers of the future to exist in peace, love, and freedom. This affects our wellbeing in an indirect and direct way. Those poor elementary kids deserve a better and more loving principal. I can only imagine what a queer kid in that school feels like right now. How sad.
